One chair, one hour

Every visit is a full hour up our stoop on Seventh Avenue , and we talk before we touch anything.

Whitening by the shade guide

From A3 most people reach about A1 in one 90-minute visit.

$650, one visit. Trays to keep the colour are included.

Your first hour

A new-patient visit is sixty minutes in one chair with one dentist. Nobody hands you a clipboard: the forms come by text the evening before.

Arrive

Up the stoop, coffee or tea, and straight into the chair. Your forms are already done, so the hour is yours.

Look

Photographs, low-dose x-rays and a 3D scan instead of the putty tray. Every picture is on the screen beside you as we take it.

Talk

We go through what we found, tooth by tooth, and say what can wait. You leave with a written plan and every price on it.

Clean

A full clean, gentle at the gumline, polished with the flavour you choose. Tell us to stop and we stop.

Leave

Your next visit is booked before you reach the door, and the plan is in your inbox by the evening.

Dr. Maya Alder

Cosmetic dentist. Veneers, bonding and whitening, planned on screen with you and tried in your mouth before anything is made. Fourteen years in practice, nine of them in Brooklyn.

Dr. Theo Rowe

Family dentist. Children from the first tooth, nervous adults, crowns, root canals and implants. He explains each step before he does it and stops when you raise a hand.

Questions, filed

Insurance

We are in network with most PPO plans and bill them directly. Before any treatment you get a written estimate of what the plan pays and what you pay. We do not take HMO or Medicaid plans.

Sensitivity

Some people feel a twinge for a day or two. We check your gums and fillings first, use a desensitising gel during the visit, and give you a paste to use for the week before and after.

Nerves

No. Tell us when you book and the first hour is only looking and talking, nothing else. Nitrous oxide is available for any visit at no extra charge.

Children

By their first birthday, or six months after the first tooth. Early visits are short: a count of teeth, a look at brushing, and a sticker on the way out.

Emergencies

Call the main number. On Sundays and Mondays it forwards to whichever of us is on call, and we will either talk you through it or open up.

Paying

Yes. Treatment over $1,000 can be paid over twelve months without interest, set up at the front desk with no credit check.

Getting here

214 Seventh Avenue, between 3rd and 4th Street, Brooklyn NY 11215. Ground floor, three steps up, with a ramp on the 3rd Street side.
